This is a post to show all you thinblrs and fitblrs that stretchmarks are NORMAL and they happen to EVERYONE.
I’m skinny - a lot of people accuse me of being underweight and needing to “get some meat on your bones.” My thighs are each 19 in. around, I weigh 117 pounds, and I have a BMI of 18.8. I have to consume about 2400 calories a day, given my level of exercise. I run every other day and do cross training & strength on the off days, and I take one rest day a week. So I guess you could say I’m fit and thin.
But I still have stretchmarks on my thighs. It’s not because I was skinny, gained weight, and then lost it. It was from starting cross country in high school, gaining leg muscle, and thus stretching my skin before it could grow.
Stretchmarks can also be hereditary - if your mother or father had them, you’re more likely to develop them more easily than if your parents didn’t have them.
Stretchmarks aren’t ugly, they don’t make you fat, they don’t make you a loser, they don’t make you anything any more than the color of your skin does. Nearly everyone gets them at some point in time.
Calm down and love your body & yourself :)
